Fitness Q&A

I recently took part in a little Q&A for Leanne Moore‘s new fitness column in the Limerick Leader, giving some of my top exercise tips šŸ™‚

Here it is:

1: What is your weekly fitness routine like?

I aim to exercise 6 days a week, doing 2 weights sessions with a personal trainer, 3 Pilates classes and 3 to 4 cardio sessions.

2: What exercises do you like best?

I love to lift weights and would encourage all women to weight train. It’s the best way to sculpt the body, protect our bones from osteoporosis, improve our metabolism and it’s hard to beat feeling healthy and strong!

3: What are your top three fitness tips?

Consistency, avoiding overtraining by allowing yourself to have rest days and get plenty of sleep, and taking nutrition seriously. As they say, you can’t out-train a bad diet!

4: What is your favourite “FIT FOOD”?

After a tough workout, I usually make a smoothie with Sun Warrior vanilla vegan protein powder, blueberries, unsweetened almond milk and chia seeds to help muscle recovery and fill my body with antioxidants. It also tastes delicious!

5: Who is your personal “Fitspiration”?

I really admire career women who have kids and manage to look incredibly fit and athletic, like Giselle and Kate Hudson. It’s not easy to juggle everything but these women make it look so simple and help to inspire others.
