The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards are over for another year and what a night it was! As glittering and glamorous as ever, the 16th annual awards ceremony to honour Ireland’s most stylish, took place in the chic surrounds of Dublin’s Marker Hotel.
My husband Wes usually stays clear of the limelight, but I managed to coax him along with the promise of tasty food and wine, and it was great to have him there looking smart in his suit and tie 🙂
It’s always a brilliant chance to catch-up with friends, get glammed up to within an inch of your life and enjoy the vintage Champagne and delicious food on offer, created by the hotel’s talented executive chef Gareth Mullins. But of course, the night is really about the style on show and everybody makes such a big effort to look and feel their best. Huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners, with the top prize of Most Stylish Lady going to blogger and businesswoman Suzanne Jackson. Well deserved!
I wish I could claim that I threw myself together in well under an hour, but this year it took me two days to get ready. Seriously! I popped out to Cari’s Closet on Thursday to choose my dress, and went for this glittering backless creation. I don’t feel that I’m cool/young enough to go for anything really edgy, so elegant and ladylike was the aim.
My earrings and clutch are also from Caris Closet, and just about as sparkly as you can get!
My Jimmy Choos were bought for my wedding almost three years ago and I love that I still get plenty of wear out of them.
I felt like a princess for the night, but all credit goes to my incredible glam squad!
The wonderful Kay Burns of Couture Freelance Styling did my hair. She came to the house and effortlessly popped it up in this sleek up-style. She’s so professional, talented and easy to work with, and can create whatever look you want. I knew I wanted to keep my hair up to properly show off the high neckline of my dress, and I love to keep it soft around my face rather than too scraped back. It stayed in place all night and felt utterly glam.
Michelle Regazzoli-Stone of MRS Makeup also came over to create my make-up look for the Style Awards, as she’s done for the past few years. I love working with Michelle, as again she’s so easygoing and insanely talented.
We decided on a smoky eye with plummy browns, a classic black feline flick, lots of lashes, a sprinkle of sparkle and pale lips to place all the emphasis on my eye makeup.
